Phoenixville Hospital was founded in 1902 by Dr. Charles S. Lewis and Dr. William S. Lewis. The hospital was originally called the Phoenixville Sanatorium and was a small, 10-bed facility. In the 1940s, the hospital was renamed the Phoenixville Community Hospital and began offering a wide variety of services, including obstetrics, surgery, and pediatrics.
